Weddings

My aim is to help you create a happy and memorable Wedding Day. I achieve this by ensuring that you receive the type of Ceremony that you want, and it is delivered in a professional, sincere and warm manner. Planning and customisation allow the Ceremony to flow smoothly, holding everyone's interest, yet remaining very personal and intimate.
You may like to have a simple ceremony or a wedding extravaganza. I have guided hundreds of couples through the process, and I can make it very easy for you.
- I have a selection of introductions, vows and readings you can choose from.
- You may like to fully customise your Ceremony, include themes, rituals or symbolism (eg blending of the sands) using some creativity to individualise the ceremony.
- Perhaps you would like to answer some questions and provide them to me so I can help entwine some of your “story” into your ceremony.
- You may like to include children, mention lost loved ones, and acknowledge those important to you.
- And once we have finalised the draft, you will receive a copy of your chosen Ceremony,
- and your Marriage Certificate will be in calligraphy.
How to Book
First of all, please check my availability early, by either telephone or email. I am happy to answer any questions you may have at this time. You can also send me an enquiry via my enquiries form.
I will forward a 'Confirmation of Booking' form to you for completion, and please return this form together with a booking fee, or perhaps we will arrange a meeting. Upon receipt of the Booking Fee and Form, your wedding will be my priority for the date and time booked.
Our Meeting
I usually like to get to know the couples I marry, so that when your special day arrives, we feel very comfortable with each other. Of course, if you are from out of town, this may not be possible, however, we can communicate via email, phone calls and skype, we can do our best!
I usually hold meetings at my home office: 3 Reliance Place, Pelican Waters. Please ensure you bring the following documents with you:
Documents:
- Confirmation of Booking form and Booking Fee
(if not already sent to me) - Notice of Intended Marriage
(Download Here and complete it, but signatures must be witnessed by me or another Justice of the Peace). This document must be received by me no later than one month and one day prior to your wedding day. - Original Birth Certificates
(If born outside Australia and Birth Certificates are unavailable, please bring your overseas passports) - Divorce Document/Death Certificate
(If you have been married previously) - Full Names of Two Witnesses
(must be over 18 years)
We will discuss your wedding style, (formal, relaxed and informal, or creative) and start the process of composing your Wedding Ceremony, either from a selection of my samples, or by using any special poems, readings and verses that you bring with you.
Rehearsals
Within the last week or so before your wedding day, we will need to meet to finalise the paperwork, fees and the finer points of the ceremony. This final meeting is usually held at my office. However, some couples prefer to include their wedding party and invite them to a rehearsal at the ceremony venue. (we can combine the final meeting and rehearsal together) – see notes below.
Rehearsals at the Ceremony Venue (Optional Extra $50)
There are times when it is advantageous to have your attendants present and to carry out the rehearsal at the ceremony venue.
- Convenience– the wedding party may be staying near the venue prior to the wedding day
- when children are involved,
- you may have chosen a special ritual which needs rehearsing.
- The venue may have an unusual aspect to it; you would like to see where the sun will be at the time of the wedding, or practice your entrance, how and when to enter the gazebo etc
- Parents, readers and others involved may feel more comfortable and confident if they have met the celebrant beforehand.
- First time wedding goers! (not even as a guest!)
By physically going through the motions: where to stand, how to put the ring on, how to do the recessional etc, your worries and concerns will be alleviated, and you will feel more confident and relaxed on your special day.
PA System
Most couples prefer to enjoy their ceremony without amplification of voices. However, for noisy venues, or weddings involving over 100 guests in an outdoor environment, the use of a PA system may be recommended.
I have a quality PA system which can also be used to play music via Ipod/MP3/CD discman. A fee of $50 is payable towards the cost of using the PA equipment.
…oooOOOooo…
We can work together to create the wedding of your dreams – a ceremony uniquely yours, with time and attention to every detail - so that the next morning, you can say to each other, “I feel married, that was terrific, and I would not change a thing!”
Please also take the time to look at the Letters and Photos I have received from clients.
