What began as an unusual comment half a lifetime ago, “Karen you should be a celebrant, with your background in public speaking, administration and legal matters, plus you have the right personality” turned out to be one of the best ideas ever. 22 years ago, in December 1994, I was appointed by the Attorney General’s Department to conduct weddings. What a wonderful privilege it has been to meet so many happy couples, and to help them celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. Thank you to all the brides and grooms who have chosen me as your celebrant, and to all the wonderful wedding professionals I have worked alongside over the past two decades.
