Have you thought of including a butterfly release for your wedding? Butterflies are symbolic of the transition from being single to ‘emerging’ married. It is also a custom that butterflies were used to carry wishes to the heavens. According to Indian legend it is believed that if you want a wish to come true you must capture a butterfly and whisper that wish to it. Since a butterfly makes no sound, they cannot tell the wish to anyone but the Great Spirit. So by making the wish and releasing the butterfly, your wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted.
Casey and Josh recently married at Australia Zoo, and invited guests to bless their marriage as the bridal party released butterflies. The bride and groom also made an important wish for their future.
